Awesome Lengua tacos! Best ever! The place might look sketch but I tell ya, those places tend to have the best, most authentic food you'll find! They did not disappoint!
Jam up!! Little iffy when you pull up but that usually means good food to me. Probably 10 different meats for tacos!! Great salsa and fixin's bar. Authentic Mexican not Americanized Mexican. Although number 10 on the menu is the "American taco". I would recommend you steer clear of the norm and venture out from what you normally get. You will not be disappointed. I will drive out of my way to come back next time I'm back in Athens!!
BEST HIDDEN GEM IN ATHENS!!! I am from Los Angeles so I am well versed in authentic Mexican food. Los Amigos by far offers the most authentic Mexican food in Athens and it is my go to for good tacos. I also love to buy some groceries while I'm there which always is very reasonably priced. The people there are always welcoming and the atmosphere only adds to the experience. Very highly recommended hidden gem in Athens. I almost don't want people to know about it so there are more tacos for me :)
Most authentic tacos in town. The price is right. Salsa bar is great. Try the lengua tacos or burrito. Bucé and tripe are great also. Homemade corn tortillas
Delicious! The food is phenomenal and quick. Everything is full of flavor. The tacos are amazing as well. My favorite were the Al Pastor and the Pollo. They also have a variety of different salsas and add-ons to spice things up even more. Highly recommend if you're looking for amazing mexican food that is cheap.
It's a little out of the way and you would never know it's a restaurant, but for authentic taco, this place is the best. Very generous portions and very reasonable prices. You know your in the right place for tacos when no one eating there has English as a 1st language.
Looking for authentic mexican?? Go no further! This drive by kind of place is an amazing find. The food is fresh, authentic, and delicious. You absolutely must try the horchata!! We tried the asada, pollo, chorizo tacos, and also a carne quesadilla! Awesome place ran by awesome people! Stop by and grab a taco or two - you won't be disappointed
Great tacos! This place is amazing. They give you the taco with the meat and you can put your own cilantro, onions, radish, jalapeño, lime, and different sauces on it. Every one of the different kinds of salsa they had was delicious. We got a cup of horchata to drink too, which was very yummy. If you have time, it's fun to look around the grocery part of the store too. I picked up a few snacks and condiments and got a flan and slice of tres leches cake from the refrigerated section to take home as dessert. Will definitely come back here!
I have been searching for some real Mexican tacos in the area. Had no idea they were just around the corner at this unassuming Mexican market. I had the asada, chorizo, and al pastor tacos. The asada was my favorite. They offer several other options for tacos including lengua. Had the horchata to drink. So good!! We went on Monday but they were slim on pickings, so the butcher told us to come back Tuesday since they make them fresh then so we returned and it was worth it! It will help if you know some conversational Spanish. I know less than that but was able to manage.
